In focus

A rare bird of northern landscapes

The Red Goshawk is one of Australia’s rarest raptors. Rich reddish tones and broad wings distinguish a bird associated with extensive northern woodlands and forests. In Queensland, its story is closely connected with large, functioning landscapes, mature nesting trees and the birdlife that sustains this specialised hunter.
